Kesselhaus
Kesselhaus — literally "boiler house" — is Augsburg's most architecturally impressive nightlife venue, set inside a converted industrial building with ceilings that soar 21 metres overhead. The sheer scale of the space is what hits you first: standing on the main floor and looking up past the exposed steel beams and original brickwork creates a feeling of grandeur that few purpose-built clubs can match. The venue hosts a rotating programme of club nights, live concerts, and cultural events that take full advantage of the industrial cathedral setting.
The sound and lighting systems have been fitted to match the ambitions of the space, delivering production quality that rivals larger city venues. On club nights, the music spans electronic, house, and occasional themed party evenings. Live concerts bring in acts that range from regional bands to national touring artists. The bar is well-run with a sensible drinks menu, and prices sit in the mid-range — reasonable given the quality of the surroundings and the events on offer.
Kesselhaus is on Riedingerstrasse in Augsburg's Textilviertel, the former textile manufacturing district that has been gradually transforming into a cultural quarter. The venue is reachable by tram or a fifteen-minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof. Events do not run every night — Kesselhaus operates on a programme basis, so checking the schedule in advance is essential. Entry prices depend on the event and typically range from eight to twenty euros. Card and cash accepted.
