P1 Club

P1 on Prinzregentenstraße has been Munich's most famous and exclusive club since 1984. Located right next to Haus der Kunst and the English Garden, it draws a crowd of entrepreneurs, celebrities, models, and international jet-setters. The name P1 stands for prestige in Munich, and a visit here is a statement for many. The interior is modern and spacious, with multiple areas, VIP tables, and a terrace in summer.

The door policy is notoriously selective. A well-groomed appearance, stylish clothing, and confident demeanor are prerequisites — but no guarantee of entry. Mixed groups and couples have significantly better chances than all-male groups. Those who make it inside will find an atmosphere that shifts between lounge and dance floor, with premium drink prices and a crowd that is quite approachable once you are in.

Open Wednesday through Sunday from 19:00, though the club atmosphere really builds around 23:00. Prices are high — cocktails and bottles sit well above the Munich average. Despite the elevated expectations and the sometimes perceived arrogance at the door, P1 remains a place you should experience at least once in Munich, if only to form your own opinion.
