Bolero

Bolero on Mecklenburgstrasse wins primarily with its location directly on the Pfaffenteich, the man-made lake in the heart of Schwerin. From the terrace you look out across the water, and on mild summer evenings there is hardly a better spot for a cocktail in the state capital.

The drinks menu covers a solid selection of cocktails, long drinks, and wines at prices in the upper range. The quality of the drinks is decent, though it may not match specialized cocktail bars in larger cities. The waterside atmosphere more than compensates, and the crowd is relaxed and well dressed.

Bolero works especially well as the opening act for an evening in Schwerin — a drink with a lake view before moving on to the old town. In winter the action shifts indoors, where the atmosphere is cozy but less spectacular than on the summer terrace.
